About ROADMAP

Paving the Way to Inclusive Excellence in Applied Psychology

Mission

The Research Opportunities and Development through Mentorship in Applied Psychology (ROADMAP) Undergraduate Summer Research Program aims to diversify fields in applied psychology. Through high quality mentoring, research experience, career development, and graduate school application preparation opportunities, ROADMAP participants will be better equipped with the knowledge and skills to pursue and remain on the path toward success as a researcher, clinician, and/or scientist-practitioner. By creating access to opportunity for students from all backgrounds whose unique perspectives, personal values, and experiences will enrich the field of applied psychology, the ROADMAP program seeks to promote a broadly diverse field of graduate students—and ultimately faculty, researchers, and clinicians—whose knowledge and understandings of the issues facing diverse communities will contribute to better outcomes for those communities.

Vision

ROADMAP envisions a future where the landscape of applied psychology reflects the rich tapestry of human experience. Our program aims to enhance diversity in graduate programs and clinical settings and catalyze a paradigm shift toward socially just research and practice. Greater diversity of perspectives will enrich our understanding of marginalized experiences and improve outcomes for all.
